In Zagreb you will find plenty of good restaurants serving both national and international cuisine. In the spring and summer dine alfresco and soak up the kinetic atmosphere. Most of the restaurants are open until 23:00 or midnight unless stated otherwise.
Baltazar
One of the best restaurants in town for local Croatian cuisine, and ideally situated only 5 minutes walk from the cathedral. Serves a fantastic selection of veal cutlets and pork fillets from the grill. Enchanting courtyard and personable service.

Dubravkin Put
Serves an excellent selection of Croatian seafood as well as superb meat dishes. Outdoor seating is possible when the weather permits it. Might be necessary to book in advance.

Vinodol
Situated just a stone throw away from the central square is Vinodol which is famous for its perfect spit roast lamb. Also serves meat dishes from greater central Europe. An enormous outdoor courtyard makes it a great place in the summer.

Havana Club
Serves an impressive range of meat dishes from the grill, all done in the special spicy Cuban style. Most of the décor is cigar shaped. Cuban ambiance combined with attentive service makes it the obvious choice if you have been to Mimara Museum.

Gallo
Very popular restaurant which serves several European meat dishes with an Italian twist. Exquisite wine list supplements their fabulous menu. Attracts the business and the expat community. Good idea to book in advance.

Nokturno
Just off Tkalciceva is Nokturno offering a huge selection of pizzas, lasagne and pasta dishes plus an excellent salad bar. Outdoor terrace is open in the spring and summer.

Pivnica Medvedgrad
Large beer hall, 1.5 kilometres from town centre where they serve large portions of Croatian meat dishes together with their own fabulous in-house brewed beer.

Okrugljak
Traditional Croatian food which is served in rustic surroundings. Hearty dishes and very often the meal is accompanied by live violin or piano music. Necessary to book in advance.
