Casablanca - Eating
Casablanca is a multi-cultural city and while many of the restaurants serve a menu of only Moroccan or French delicacies there are Oriental, Mexican, Italian, Indian and American style eateries to be found. It is also known for its ice cream parlours and patisseries. Look out for Mechoui – a roasted lamb dish seasoned with paprika and cumin and Bisteeya, a savoury pastry that contains chicken and eggs in a lemony-onion sauce and topped with crushed almonds and cinnamon and sugar. Do remember there may restriction to menus and opening hours during Ramadan.
La Mer
La Mer is a nautical-themed restaurant that specialises in local fish and seafood dishes. Try to get a seat by the window, the view is amazing.
A Ma Bretagne
Famous for its excellent à la carte menu that includes Foie Gras, A Ma Bretagne is run by award winning Maître Cuisiniers de France chefs.
Le Cabestan
Le Cabestan is an elegant little restaurant with a classic French menu and good views over the harbour and lighthouse. This is one of the best restaurants for seafood.
Taverne Du Dauphin
Taverne Du Dauphin is a popular restaurant near the coast that serves a good choice of fresh fish dishes in delicious sauces. The squid is recommended here.
